Tortilis Camp draws its name from the distinctive Acacia Tortilis, the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, and is gracefully perched on a hill within one of Amboseli’s Acacia Tortilis woodland areas. Situated within a private conservancy bordering the national park, the camp offers a range of activities, including game drives, guided walks, sundowner experiences, and bush meals, conducted both within the national park and the conservancy, providing guests with an exclusive wilderness encounter.
The camp’s tents are generously spacious, offering a choice of king or twin beds and featuring elegant en suite bathrooms. Constructed with a commitment to natural aesthetics and thatched roofs, the main lounge, bar, and dining area provide an inviting communal space. For added privacy, the Private House and Family Tent are positioned slightly apart from the main camp on the hill and share access to a pool.
Tortilis Camp holds the distinction of being one of the pioneering eco-lodges of its size and takes great pride in operating entirely on solar power. Guests can rest assured that their stay leaves a minimal ecological footprint.
